Actually my dad grew up in a house with a tin roof and hearing rain hit the roof was one of his favorite sounds.

I dunno, I'm kind of used to the staccato of raindrops clattering like bullets on a roof. Its actually kinda relaxing.
I'm imagining a pegasus setting up a small personal drizzle into a tub or their garden so they can sleep with the sound of rain :3
