I'd prefer if we didn't discuss it here either.

If there is anything that you are alone in thinking, it's "thinking that you're alone in thinking of your theories".
Hello everyone, talking about... a subject that doesn't seem to be very popular here. And I actually don't mind... that thing either. It's just not my cup of tea.
So how are things?
The Element of Procrastination
I'm doing ok.
Bye the way Ilsemmr, what was the definition you used in class?

That's good. But I wonder if we'll get anything on Saturday. I remember the weekend before "Putting Your Hoof Down" aired, there was nothing on the "empty" weekend. But I wonder what the little wedding special thing with the hostess will be about. Will it air before, after, or during the episode?
Well, it's more like I have a different way to think of congruence and modular things. But here's the definition from class:
"Two integers, a and b, are congruent mod n if (a-b) is divisible by n."
It's just that I think more in terms of remainders when
I have to do exercises on them.

The Element of Procrastination
Well that's basically the same thing. I was just trying to find a way that would be simpler for a non math person to understand.

I was never taught modular arithmetic in high school. I had to learn it because of the mod operator in programming languages, and it was pretty instrumental to programming a basic Tic-Tac-Toe AI as my first real programming project.
Not to mention that almost all computer math is done mod a power of two anyway.

Hello, Cherilee. Do you know why you always have that planet and PDE on the blackboard?

evening Cheerilee.
Gully Foyle is my name,
and Terra is my nation.
Deep space is my dwelling place,
and death's my destination.
Hello Cheerilee. And yeah, I'm not doing anything that does with computers and stuff, so to me the whole thing is kind of... frustrating

@story Oh, that. Those were the last things the teacher before me put on the board before I took the job. I can't use chalk without getting a weird taste in my mouth and just never felt the need to erase it.
I think
PD Es are ones that involve partial derivatives.
^ If you haven't erased it, why isn't it there all the time?

In other news, can anyone think of a way to prove that 2^(-x) + 2^(-1/x) <= 1 for all positive real x?
I tried AM-GM Ineq. but it didn't seem to help.

Oh gods, it's a math more advanced than Algebra 2! Burn it!
I analyze "Geek Culture" here.
When All Else Fails, worry, that's the 14 way.
How is that advanced? You know what exponents are, right?

@story Hmm... Are you sure about that?
