Clarifying this before I leave for a while: Yes it was a Fairy Tale, and it was in Low German. You can probably understand it if you look at it carefully enough if you know German, or you can read the link I posted earlier which now reminds me of phoenixes.

I'm kinda the same way as Ginger on the issue with the music. I really prefer orchestral stuff. Electronic and similar music... not as much, although classic/bluesy rock is also pretty good.
I think that it'll still be a long time before bronies ever come near the Touhou fandom in terms of fan music, imo.
A FEW MORE KEYSTROKES AND THIS MIGHT BE- whoops, wrong website.

I like epic orchestral swells and ominous latin chanting... but mainly I like stuff which has a powerful riff
not an exact example, but I love stuff like this
"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs Schneizel

One last thing on the Touhou derail: Here's the kind of music I was talking about that I like. [1]
Anyway, so... how about that James Bond reference? (I honestly have no clue what to talk about right now)

because with the MLP fandom, the majority of us actually WATCH the show, and the official product actually gives us a lot to work with in terms of fanwork
Most members of the Touhou fandom haven't even played the games (at least that's the impression I got) and in general it just feels like the official works are completely ignored
I JUST DON'T GET IT!!!
