I liked the Discord arc too, even if it was a lot different from what I expected it to be from fan reaction. I was expecting this rather dark story with Discord being a creepy Mind Rape Complete Monster. The whole thing was far too comedic to take seriously, that doesn't make it bad, it's very funny and entertaining, but nothing like what a lot credit it for.

I don't know why, but I feel like a Road Trip style movie would be awesome, even if it doesn't fit the style of the show.

I could see something like Spongebob The Movie occuring, a comedic surreal journey but with higher stakes and genuinely nasty but still completely offbeat and whimsical villains.

I don't know The Spongebob Movie was really dark compared to the series.

I dunno, it was similar to the Discord arc for me, it was a bit creepy, but overall too offbeat to take all that seriously.

I'd prefer and adventure flick.

How about a serious Oscar bait drama about a mentally challenged mailmare?

Anyway, if they were to make a movie similar in tone to the Discord arc, but less rushed and with a proper conclusion, then yeah, I'd enjoy that aplenty.

Just so long as they don't actually bring back Discord. Sealed Evil in a Can breaks out once in a century, shame on him, Sealed Evil in a Can breaks out twice in a century, shame on Celestia. Someone should really go out there and smash that statue. I wonder if they refrain from doing so out of kindness or because it wouldn't do any good. Might be Discord could simply restore himself if his body was damaged anyway.

I expected the same thing based on the Trope page. Guess that's what I get for spoiling myself.

But I think a cute little adventure story could work with a Discord-like villain.

The statue started to crack when Discord broke free, so it's possible that smashing the statue would only let him out.

Hmmm, but the Spongebob Movie was more serious then the Discord arc, espically the heartwrenching scene where Spongebob and Patrick get dried up.

Of course they would survive, but still.

@ Ginger, I have the same issue. luckily the one I like the least is also the one that sucks the most.

Have you played Star Control 2? It's like an early 90s version of Mass Effect. At least that's what the mineral scanning reminds me of.
