@Ginger and Crowfall: Yeah, I'm guessing he wanted to kill any chance of his publisher trying to do a continuation without him or something in the event that they got the rights. Then again, the ship only gets torched into the Where Are They Now epilogue, so it's pretty easy to call discontinuity on it and go with the ship anyway.

Well, I'm dissapointed that my dad didn't like the show as much as I had hoped, but in my thoughts (haven't taken much action on them yet), I'm realizing that I sound like Pinkie trying to convince Cranky to be my friend (and the scary thing is that it hasn't deterred me much..

Eh, I haven't gone that far yet, and he's not bald atm.

I'm going to give it one last effort before I try to back off.

I'm going to try to show him the first 4 minutes of an episode (About the point when the conflict is established) before stopping, then let him decide if he wants to watch more.
