Say, we've got some decent artists kicking around on here... has anyone here done commissions before? I was approached to do one on the stream, and I'm trying to figure out quite how to price it(Not to self: Next time talk about prices before starting the commission sketch...).

I'm looking at about 30-40 dollars I believe, as it's a full scene with colour and shading, and features 3 characters(I've seen some people charging in the range of 60-80, but they're significantly more pro than I, so I'm knocking a reasonable amount off I think). I just figured I'd see if anyone here has done anything similar, if they had any advice to give.

Ooh! Want to see the picture I've been working on for a Commission, though? It's just a sketch done◊, but I like it so far. It'll be fully inked, coloured and shaded by the end of it.

Well, to be honest, their muzzles look be proportioned rather like the old G3 style ._.

I think they might be too big... or too smooth. I'm used to Stallion's muzzles being very angular

They could be more angular-er.

Huh... could be the lack of angularity, yeah. I tend to have a very sort of round, soft style in general. Plus I do them a tad more realistic than in the show(stallions, at least), so the muzzles being a tad longer makes sense.

Not sure if I'd call them proportioned similar to G3, though. I mean, maybe the heads, but certainly not the whole things? Considering I used Big Mac and Caramel as reference?

EDIT: Well shoot, now I'm torn. The commissioner loves it, which is great, but now I'm still all self-conscious about the muzzles...

Solution: finish what you have now, then redo it over :D

Guh. It took me hours to do the sketch alone... It does seem that it's just the muzzles, so a small edit might not be too hard. But it's not a terrible thing one way or another. Especially considering all it comes down to is the muzzles are too long/round, I could even just make the edit when I Vector ink them. Easy to play around with and see which is better, at least.

Anyhow, it's close to 4:00 AM here. I'm gonna hit the hay, methinks. Night all.

As a pseudo-merc, my price is open to negotiation, with extras :D
