You know, I noticed that Fluttershy has a tendency to break through her normally crippling self-conscious limitations when she gets sufficiently mad.

I'm actually rather like that. I tend to be a more efficient worker when I'm mad. (Though I wish that weren't the case. I hate being mad. I feel like I've lost myself when that happens.)

Just finished the episode.

...wow. The scene where Dash tries to convince 'shy to "suck it up" then backs down when she realizes how harsh she was being was a very nice touch, Fluttershy running away to her animals was a great scene with beautiful music accompanying it, the climax was suitably dramatic and showed why fans love Fluttershy and Dash, the gags with Fluttertree, and the Roid Rage pony, and the Training Montage, and the old-timey Instructional Video, and a whole bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting were hilarious... The whole episode was just great.

Hasbro is really making up for the lack Fluttershy episodes in the first half of season 2

@Death: I've got nothing against the CMC or minor character getting more time, but I'd rather it not be at the expense of the mane cast. I know some people consider them to be on the level with the Mane 6, but I don't think they've quite made it that far yet. Sisterhooves Social is a good example of the kind of way I think they should be used.

@Seraphem: I'm working on it now. This is gonna be a long one. There's a lot of great character stuff in this episode. The scene where RD goes to Fluttershy's house currently takes up about a page and a half. Single spaced.

[up]Seriously, this episode is in serious contention with "Lesson Zero" as my favorite of the season.

Who are the Dash lovers here?

I owe you all an apology for hating on her.

Sweet. Apology accepted.

Anyway, just watched the episode, then read through a ridiculous argument where people seemed to be trying to convince Chariot he was wrong for not liking an episode. Couldn't we have just not argued about that?

This episode was weird to me. By the time it was quite clear that we had reached the climax, I was absolutely stunned to realize that a full episode had gone by. It seemed so short, I'm not sure why. It certainly wasn't bad, but it did seem far more straightforward than I expected.

But I'm happy, cause despite the episode technically focusing on Fluttershy, this was the Rainbow Dash episode I've always wanted to see. Seeing Dash in a leadership role, not flanderized into an asshole, and showing her sweet and supportive side. The Fluttershy bits weren't as great, but still amusing.

When the Fluttershy training montage was going on and all the woodland creatures started flashing up pony masks, it made me realize how utterly bizarre it would seem out of context.

@ J Teeth, can't wait :)

@Blue we weren't saying he was wrong for disliking it, it was his reason for disliking it, he/she saw one line of synopsis, drew from that an assumption of how the whole episode would be (that no one else can even understand HOW it was drawn fro that sentence), avoided all other previews, and was then upset that it wasn't like they assumed it would be from that one sentence. That boggled mus

Anyone wish Spitfire did something more than stand in the background and give an 'insert generic Wonderbolt comment here' moment? The Wonderbolts are one of the few things in the show that haven't really gotten development from Flat Characters yet.

@Seraphem: Wouldn't surprise me, the actual song has already been used in a few cartoons.

@Psi: yeah, I wish they'd be developed a bit more. Partly because, well, my feeling on Soarin are fairly well known at this point. But they just seem like interesting characters. Maybe they'll get an episode if they ever get toys...

@Chad: I figured from the get go she wouldn't make it up much. I mean, she was fighting butterflies, and swooping past dandelions. Not exactly tough stuff. Still, it was funny.
