Zhao was an over-confident, idiotic, blowhard.
Azula was freaking amazing.

I love Zuko's first fight with Zhao. That was amazing, best fight of the first series IMO. Unless I'm forgetting something.
Tealove is best pony.

@AHR: I noticed that there was a temple in my hometown that teaches Hung Ga (earthbending). And the karate club I joined here at college is Shotokan, which descended from Hung Ga. So I was like =D.

Can you think inside the chimney?
Is he that Prince guy?
I could never get into him for whatever reason. I really never liked Zuko

no that's Zuko, and he...is complected. Zhao was the admiral he got in a fight with.

I make no claims that Zhao was anywhere near Azula's level but he was still pretty competent.

Shotokan, for me, which is sorta like firebending but not really =3=
WHY DOES NO ONE NOTICE THE FIGHTING STYLES
I am sorry to admit that I watch a show for the characters, mostly. I don't think I've ever paid much attention to action scenes in general, let alone particular fighting styles.
you will go to the paper towns and you will never come back
I personally think Azula kind of falls apart as a villain near the end of the series.

Most of season 1 is filler, so you can safely skip it.
Personally, I watched the episodes completely out of order, though I did know a fair bit about the plot before hand from reading websites so I wasn't confused.

If there is anything that you are alone in thinking, it's "thinking that you're alone in thinking of your theories".
@Kyler: I'm the same way. Fights are basically just eye candy; the characters are what really draw me in most of the time. *knows nothing about martial arts*
... you guys are REALLY saying that I can safely skip an ENTIRE season of a show?!

I could never tell apart the fighting styles either.

@AHR: You're a Shotokan-ka too? Badass! Unfortunately I had to stop going this semester because of work buildup, but since I'll be in Japan next year, I may be able to get back into the swing of things. I'd only gotten up to blue belt when I had to stop...
@Avatar: And then
TOPH BEI FONG shows up in season 2!

I had to stop due to college, but I was a purple belt. We don't have blue or red belts though.
Whatever you do, be sure to skip The Great Divide.
