Boy do these stats take forever to calculate.

Also, does anyone know how to stop Songbird from crashing all the time?

I thought that Bioshock 2 did a good job with expanding on the themes of the first game. The problem was that you were supposed to be playing as a Big Daddy. In reality, Delta didn't play any different than your character from the first game. Sure, you had a drill, but it as functionally identical to the wrench aside from a few abilities, and you didn't feel any bigger, tougher, or more powerful than before. It wasn't a bad game by any means, it just didn't do enough to expand upon the first outside of the story.

Also, Bioshock2 kind of shoehorned in a whole bunch of new characters that weren't even hinted at in the original.

But that makes sense given the setting! What if all the "new" characters in the setting were the ones that Andrew Ryan tried to Un-Person, and he only succeeded as far as the locations of Bioshock 1?

If Ryan were able to do that he would have unpersoned Fontaine.

The thing I found absolutely hilarious was that the villain kept trying to reason with you. Even though you are a big mindless monster. Every time the villain made a speech at me begging me to see reason, I just responded "ARGH! BIG DADDY SMASH!"

[up] I read that as Big Daddy Kane for some reason.

Also, why is the Bioshock series so heavily applauded for its Apocalyptic Log style of storytelling? Resident Evil did it first. Well, maybe not first, but much earlier.

Is it? That's the first I heard about that.

Also because Resident Evil doesn't have very good writing.

Late to the Party was something that kind of bothered me in the first three Resident Evil games I played (0, 1, and 2). "Aww, all the cool stuff already happened before I got here! Now I'm just the janitor that has to clean up the mess afterwards!"

Six minutes in, I lost the privacy. Oh well, I'll try again tomorrow or something.

I thought Bioshock had pretty good writing. The plot twist, the more storyline-relevant logs, they were pretty interesting.

Bioshock didn't have good writing? That's a new one. Normally when people talk about the things they didn't like about the game, they talk about the not-so-refined shooter gameplay, the hacking minigame, or the ending after the big reveal, but never the writing. In fact, the game's pacing and writing is usually given as one of the game's best points.

Don't expect me to keep up with everything, though. I'm going to be Thread Hopping much more. DO expect me to derail the thread with my own thoughts sometimes.
