Thing people are worried about with the episode is that it will be REALY Time Travel, and once that gets brought in every single peice of drama gets clouded by "Well why didin't they just use time travel to stop it"
Temporal Paradox headaches, it just opens up to many ways for stuff to go wrong.
Now something MISTAKEN for Time travel, bring it on.
unless it's done through pastry baking, then Time Travel is fine.

Build a fool proof system, and the world will create a better fool.
I'm looking forward to the episode. There are a few ways it could go wrong, but the writers are generally good enough that they'll be able to make it work.
"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs Schneizel
I'm still guessing that it's either going to be a one-time-only spell that sends the message, or else Twilight will have just misunderstood a non-future message.
Or you know. It could just be a prank.
What's with the time travel hatred?

If it is actual time travel it will probably be a super rare once only thing, like the planets need to line up or something. If that happens a short time after the start of the episode, like a week or so, it also cuts off any "why didn't Twi warn about x future episode" complaints.
True...at this point I'm willing to believe they could make an awesome episode based on watching paint dry.
It's not time travel in and of itself, it's how badly most works use it, and just the shear number of plot-holes it always ends up opening.

@ginger I don't know... could just be Fridge Logic?
@Ginger: Time travel makes for great stories when it is a major aspect of that story. But introducing it as a one off plot in a series risks introducing a hell of a lot of fridge logic. It can be done well, and several people have given examples of how, but that doesn't stop people from worrying that it will be done poorly.
Ginger: It's a tough trope to use is all, so naturally people are wary. I, myself trust the writers to handle it. It's just a lot of shows tend to handle it badly, so I can understand why everyone's acting like they are (a personal encounter I've had with a bad use of the trope was in Heroes, basically just getting increasingly poorly used after the first season, especially when they decide to start killing off protagonists and no one seems to think of time travel or the magical regeneration blood... but I'm getting a bit offtopic now, so I'll stop).
Of course, the paint-drying episode would be lauded as the best yet.
Gully Foyle is my name,

Deep space is my dwelling place,
and death's my destination.
Ooooh, how about Trollestia sending Twi a message in the form of herself in the future in order train/troll her?
I don't know why, but now I'm thinking the message will have to do with something going wrong at the wedding...
I'll probably destroy the universe if this is just a power that Twi can use on her own

I seriously doubt they would give her a power like that.
