My theory on Derpy:

When she was just a little filly, she baked her first batch of muffins. Unfortunately, she couldn't read very well at the time. So, instead of using poppy seeds, she used Poison Joke seeds. Her eyes have been derpy ever since.

Answer: Yes. It was awesome. I can't wait for next week! Fluttershy is really growing on me. She's not my favorite pony, but she's starting to take a place in my heart <3

Also, I'm totally procrastinating. I should be writing one of my three and half essays due next week instead... ><

It's interesting to see Rarity and Pinkie hanging out together, although we still have yet to a full interactive dynamic between them, or at least something more than what we saw this episode.
