I think most artists are ok with you posting their stuff as long as you give credit. The worst they can do is ask you to take it down. You could just also screengrabs from the show or maybe one of the pony creator tools.

What else might work is doing paper dolls of the characters then posing them and taking pictures.. sort of like how Southpark's animation looks.

So what are the odds that Fluttershy takes being assertive too far and it causes problems? I think the odds are pretty high.

I'm feeling rather indifferent about the upcoming Fluttershy episodes, the upcoming Twilight episode terrifies me, so that just leaves Spike to look forward to, yay.

By the way. Since there are only two episodes left that we know absolutely nothing about, anyone want to take a guess at who they will involve?

EDIT: I'd like a Rainbow Dash episode. She's awesome and hasn't gotten a lot of episodes lately. I wouldn't mind a Rarity-centered episode either. They've been relatively ignored lately...

Honestly, I'm probably least looking forward to the Spike episode because the summary makes it sound like he's going to be isolated. I really want a Spike episode centered on his relationship with the other cast members.

I think if I do the paper doll route I'd have to get screencaps, edit them, print them, and then pose them. That's...a lot of work. My limited google-fu skills have not unearthed a set online ready for use.

You could use a pony creator to make the dolls, cut out different limb poses, facial expressions, etc... and then lay them out how you want and take pics. I used to do something similar but used modeling clay to simulate 2D stuff, it actually looked kind of neat because with the right lighting the shading made it have some nice depth.
