@Ginger: I really don't get what you mean when you say they should explain/justify why she is an Alicorn. Alicorns are things that already exist, and every princess so far has been an Alicorn. She's already justified. Now if you mean you want to explain what's up with Alicorns in general, I totally agree with you.

@Blue Basically, yeah. I wanna know what's up with the alicorns. Until now, Celestia and Luna have been the only alicorns we've seen. They were also Physical Gods, so I could understand. Princess Platinum and Prince Blueblood were both royalty and they weren't Alicorns.

I'd at least want to hear a single sentence of explanation since Celestia and Luna aren't unique anymore.

In case anyone was wondering where I was, I decided that I've been wasting too much time in this thread recently so I've been trying to check it less frequently. Not that I've been particularly successful.

Wow, this thread has been slow today. I blame my absence on two things:

1. I have a bunch of homework and a presentation that I have to give tomorrow.

2. For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to buy Minecraft. I spent this afternoon expanding my wheat farm and setting up a mining outpost so I don't have to keep running back to my primary base.

@Bluespade: I think he means, and I agree, that there should be justification given for her beyond 'she's a princess'. The only alicorns we've encountered so far have been physical goddesses with control over the heavens; correlation doesn't imply causation, of course, but I'd like to know why we haven't heard of her before if she is a third goddess and, if she's not, why she's an alicorn.

Alula/Pluto is a filly that was accidentally drawn as an Alicorn in Twilight's Magic Kindergarten imagine spot.

Yeah, "Pluto" is the Fan Nickname of her imaginary Winged Unicorn form and "Alula" is the Fan Nickname of her normal pegasus form. She also shows up as an earth pony in "A Friend in Deed", but I don't know if that form has its own Fan Nickname.

See, I disagree on the thought of Luna and Celestia being Physical Gods. They're more powerful than normal unicorns, but we haven't seen them do anything particularly special. Even raising the sun and moon is something that normal unicorns can do, apparently. Now they do have longevity going for them, but I think it's a bit ridiculous to call them gods.

Oh, and before you say it G, I know Celestia stopped Twilight when she was going nuts with her powers. But remember Twilight was a little filly at the time and didn't know what she was doing, I don't think it would take a whole lot of power to stop her. The truly impressive thing Celestia did, in my opinion, was simply not be taken by surprise like everyone else did. She's Seen It All, and is capable of immediately responding to things others would simply be stunned by.

But when did Twilight imagine her as an Alicorn? I don't even know who she is.

Hey, you ninja'd me, Ginger. =) I understood your post clearly.

^Definitely not. What Celestia and Luna can do may be possible for other unicorns working in concert, but they're immensely powerful, highly magic-resistant (I don't buy the fact that Celestia's, what, reflexes? allowed her to walk into a magic storm and not get turned into a cactus), and immortal.

Minecraft? I've only ever played the classic (haven't bought the full version yet), and yes, I was still addicted to it. I can only imagine how amazing the full version is!

In "Lesson Zero" (she's the last one in the row on the right); I think it happened because the animators added a horn but didn't take off the wings.

@bluespade Luna created entire storms just by getting angry. It didn't even seem to be voluntary.

Celestia also casually dispelled a spell that affected an entire town. AND teleported to and from Canterlot to Ponyville easily, while Twi has shown difficulty teleporting more than a few metres

Why is everyone so intent to call Celestia weak?

Why are you so quick to put words in everyone's mouths? I said she was "immensely powerful." How do you get "weak" from that? Yes, that stuff is all impressive, but it doesn't seem all that much greater than what Twilight can do, and she's only had a couple decades to practice magic, whereas Celestia and Luna have had centuries.

Nevermind, I'm going for a walk so I won't be around to debate anyway.

Ginger, you have a very odd sense of "everyone". One person suggested the Celestia isn't as powerful as she was made out to be.
