as to pony ages, best guess based on Word Of God and logic, pony physical and mental ages are decoupled from each other as compared to humans. Physically they all seem to be adults, mentally I'd peg them at late teens to early twenties.

Something I thought of awhile ago because I was looking at the site's descriptions of the American Presidents for Presidents' Day. Has anyone ever compared Big Macintosh to Calvin Coolidge? At least in the sense of his extremely laconic speech patterns when he's not under the effects of a love potion? I could certainly see someone making a bet that he could speak more than 2 words, although I'm not sure if he's enough of a Deadpan Snarker to say "You lose" as a response.
