I'm not either, but I am a massive fan of video game music remixes. The Rainbow Road theme is one of my favorite video game tracks of all time, too.

I love that remix but it makes me sad that I put so much work into a remix only for Equestria Daily to ignore it. What, is my not-electronic music not good enough for them?

Seems to be the case seeing as how my crappy At the Gala remix made it.

I'd make electronic music but I don't have any equipment to make it. I'll buy Logic Pro when I get the money, but I need a midi controller too. So I'll have to save up a lot.

@L Mage: I'd have liked to, but I have no previous experience with that sort of thing, and I have waaay too much on my plate as it is. If it were during the summer and I didn't have other projects to work on, I'd probably take a swing at it.

If not for ponies I'd probably be wasting more time in the forum games or something. Outside of that, I lurk in Image Pickin', but not much else would change.

And now I disappear again for dinner.

I know what it's like. I'm trying to get an agent for a novel I've written, and I've had about 12 rejections so far, only one of which was interested enough to read the whole manuscript. You have to be persistent.

I wonder, just what types of pony art are covered by people in this thread? We have someone who makes music, several artists, a few writers, someone who does a tumblr blog, though I don't think the thread has anyone who does animations, or anyone who does comics.... We did do the Daring Do page, which is quite unique. I guess that counts as well.

Japanese Teeth also does very in-depth episode reviews. And several of the artists run tumblr ask blogs. We are a creative bunch. :]

@Superior I listened to your remix, and while I do like the instrumentation, you didn't remove the sound effects that went along with the vocals, and they definitely hurt the overall quality. Also, EQD posts music from just about every genre imaginable, so I don't think there's any bias in that department.

I wish there was something I was any good at in terms of art. I dabble a lot, but none of it is very good.

There was no way to remove the sound effects because they are in the center channel with the vocals. The leaked version lacked sound effects but I don't think there's an a capella version of that.

Yeah, I know what you're saying. There are ways to minimize that with proper editing, but they are very difficult, time consuming, require expensive software, and even then aren't 100% effective. That's why most high quality remixes either re-record the vocals with a skilled singer or don't do vocals at all.

I wasn't annoyed by them in the song proper, but they weren't really appropriate considering what song I mashed it up with. "dream" and "HOOF BUMP" sort of overlapped though, so I hope the word Dream being cut off in the middle of the m isn't too noticeable.
