Well, personally, I'm not a fan of exploring. the oldschool castlevania games were just balls to the wall platorming and combat at it's most satisfying.
They had some awesome bosses

Definitely doesn't sound like my sort of thing then. I can barely stand having my reflexes tested in the Megaman Zero games and I consider those basic level torture.

Castlevania is a great series, if you're talking about Symphony of the Night. The rest of the series is terrible.
