Actually, Drenius, that makes a lot of sense. She developed a means of tunneling from place to place - through the earth, through the water, through the air - that relied on a screwlike machine. Eventually,
she made one too big, and it screwed through reality itself, and when she saw our world on the other side, her poor 2D brain couldn't handle it.
