@kegi I always see them as being middle class, not wealthy, just average. Rarity wanted to be a designer, so she rejected that lifestyle, faked an accent, and got her cutie mark.

Not yet. I doubt we will, since it's pretty common for related cartoon characters to have completely different accents, like in Dexter's Laboratory.

What do you think would make her give it up? Even when she was depressed and thought she couldn't make dresses anymore, she still kept it.

I always thought it was vaguely German/Eastern European. That's the stereotypical "mad scientist" accent though.
