@Seraph I mean the mane characters.

If the villain isn't capable of being as awesome as the hero then they aren't a worthy villain for that hero.

I dislike it when people use a story just as an avenue to make a hero look cool.

Neh, too boring. Though I didn't consider ah orn hat, it might actually work better than a jester one. And silly me, I'm watching the Avengers in mother loving Asgard fight Loki, why didn't I think of a horn hat sooner?

ok Red Eye does tend to out awesome Lil'pip. And definitely out plans her at all times. And at some point pretty much every major character gets to do something epic.

the cast is just kinda limited ATM so there aren't many ponies around to give stuff to, also keep in mind it's all written from Lil'pips perspective, so limits just what can be seen.

The problem with that philosophy, Ginger, is that if the villain were to be more awesome than the hero in that kind of setting, the story kind of ends there. Because the hero dies.

@Lurker I said AS awesome as the hero. They need to have some measure of credibility or no one will buy them as a threat to the hero. I personally am not impressed when a villain is just a rich asshole with loads of guards. There has to be more to them than that. Be it brains or some kind of brawn. Resources is not a valid thing to one up a hero with if that's all you have IMO. Haven't you seen Death Note? Both sides of that conflict were just as awesome as each other, and a lack of information is the only reason that one side lost. Same thing with Code Geass.

well, glad you liked that, since "lack of information" is literally the only thing that defeated Red Eye. Lil'pip would have ended up agreeing that Red Eye was right and going along with his plan if she hadn't been on of only two living beings that knew about the Gardens of Equestria.

psyched, no. Hopefully optimistic, sure. But there is just to much of a chacne this could go wrong. but I'm also hoping it will go great and do trust the people enough to wait and see.

Oh, Littlepip actually listens to Red Eye? Unfortunately, she wasn't striking me as the type to listen to what villains have to say. Preferring to tell them to shut it. I always feel a twinge of irritation when heroes do that, especially when the villain is genuinely Affably Evil.

Still unsure on the new episode. This could go very... very wrong

I really like it because it's so different compared to them. A more exciting rock-ish song just wouldn't fit Rarity and I actually think there's way too much guitar in AJ's theme.

New Episode? Not sure how I feel. I can't say I'm looking forward to it, nor can I say I'm worried or anything. Just kind of neutral towards it as it stands right now.
