The majority of girls do like pink, although at this point there's definitely a feedback loop between marketers and actual preferences. I'm less sure about the princesses part, and even less sure about horses. Must have missed that memo...

Edit: Never mind, I saw it. I think it's sound. It could explain why their's the estrangement between the two halves of the family. I mean the Oranges would be hurt that one of their own had left the family business and cut off contact in order to deal with apples of all things. While the move could've been sparked because AJ's mom/dad was tired of the social maneuvering of the family.
