Actually, I was thinking about AB's hypothetical doomsday scenario. ARE there any other teachers besides Cheerilee?
Also, Now I want an episode where she takes a leave of absense, just so we can see the other cast members attempting to teach.

@Ginger Well, Ponyville would appear to only have a one room schoolhouse, which are typically only staffed by one teacher. An episode focused on other ponies attempts at teaching would be rather amusing.

I once had the fought of Peeler giving a talk at the school heavy inspired by that scene, going through all the things that can get you a citation.
Littering in a public place...that's a citation...not picking up your doggie's doodie...that's a citation...knocking off my hat...you better believe that's a citation!

You know what I just realized? I don't think this show has ever actually used a B Plot in any of the episodes. Once something gets a focus, the focus stays there for the whole episode.

As for the whole B-Plot thing, I would love a short story episode, like 'Tales from Ponyville', that focuses on the other lesser-known citizens of the town. It would give Derpy some more airtime, at least.

I don't get it. What is there to justify? They haven't justified why Celestia is an Alicorn, why start with the new girl?
