I imagine in some ways, Dashie would still treat the relationship as a competition of sorts, but I think she'd actually soften just a tad if she had a special somepony who could give her a run for her money. I only imagine her softening because otherwise that relationship might fracture pretty quickly if all parts of it were treated as a competition, and that would just be depressing.
