It will probably wind up being some sort of misunderstanding. Bringing time travel into a story complicates things or makes it weird that it isn't utilized more. I'm generally against it showing up midway through a show if it isn't a major part of the plot.

I don't doubt Twilight's magic being capable of time travel. I do, however, doubt the show venturing in that direction, unless it's for one of those multi-episode adventure thingies. At best.

Not really. Discord only seems to be interested in the present and the future ( since it's chaotic and unpredictable), and it was clear that the ONLY reason he lost was due to his overconfidence anyway.
