Re: Daring Do's sibling. Why not make it a boy: Darrin Do. Derring and Daring sound exactly alike, but this way the names are slightly different.

My entire point is that they're SUPPOSED to sound exactly alike. One's just spelt how the phrase usually spells it.
I always figured:
- Daring (Dare-ing)
- Derring (De-ring)

@Rich Stop being mean.
It adds another layer of resentment for Daring to feel when someone apparently calls her name, but it turns out that they're refering to her sister. That's happened to me before. It feels awful

I like the idea of Daring Do's sibling being male...
Gay, Autistic, Nerd, Gamer, Gleek, Brony, Writer, Fan, Mad Man.
I am in fact awesome.

Dammit!! No one ever likes my ideas
I just wanted to make a gag about a character's name being spelt how Derring-Do is usually spelt. Plus, I prefer thinking of her as female

No, seriously, try being forced to sit in a row of 3 people. All named Chris, and barely ever getting adressed when someone says "Hey, Chris"
That's why I think it works better. Gives another reason for Daring Do to initially dislike her

What we need is Daring Do fanfics. Having fanfiction for a nonexistent series would be awesome.
Also, I think one book should be named Daring Do and the
Candle Cove.
It's pronounced "Te-ah-low-ve"
What's wrong with her being called Derring-Do? I don't get it. What's wrong with her being Female for that matter. Aloof Big Sibling tend to work best when they're of the same gender as the mane character
@Mio So did the 3 of us.

I've suggested there
are, based on the possible relationship between her and Bravado.

you know some brony is working on the finfics. And i like Gingers idea. In the film versions everypony says there names the same, but Ahuizotl's accent makes him slightly alter the pronunciation of the two.

They are like the others. Strange, hideous, resisting, fighting. Only these were not like the others. They did not die.
@Storyyeller: Because people are actively getting upset over the name and sex of a character who shows up in three (fictional) books out of a proposed (fictional) eleven? Let's not go at each others' throats over whether it's spelled Derring or Darrin, please.

Can you think inside the chimney?
I can imagine the conversations:
(In the middle of a heated argument between the two)
"Ms Do?!"
Derring&Daring": "Yes?"
"I mean Ms Derring Do."
Derring&Daring: " Yes?!"
"No. I mean... the one with an E and two Rs"
Daring Do's head sinks and Derring smirks at her.

How about this, then? The sisters are Daring and Derring, but they have a younger brother named Darrin?
Then we both get what we want.

Cool. What does Darrin do then?
Or maybe that's the name of their dad? The one mentioned in another entry on that page? I dunno, it's up to you

That could be amusing. Thankfully, I can never say I've been in a situation where I don't know if someone's speaking with me,
I don't see why Daring couldn't have a younger brother in addition to a sister. No issue here.
