Ginger, I have the exact same problem. I am absolutely terrible at forcing myself to consistently work at anything. I might on a whim decide to draw or write something, but actually making myself work on some skill every day to improve it? Not so much.
Says the guy who wrote a novel.
YOU ARE NOT ONE OF US!

"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs Schneizel
I can focus on a short-term scale. It's sticking to the same project for days or weeks that I have trouble with.
you will go to the paper towns and you will never come back
Anyway, bitterness and self-pitying over things that are entirely my own fault and feeling irrational hatred towards someone who's superior to me in every concievable way aside...

Still upset that I apparently read about as fast as RD
At least I don't read out loud
"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs Schneizel
I'm apparently the only one who reads slowly.
I reread every sentence about 4 times
"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs Schneizel
I read very quickly, but I tend to miss a lot of details. A lot of the time I end up skimming. On the plus side it makes rereads worth doing.

I can't skim stuff. I need to memorize EVERY word I'm reading

As I said, I sincerely apologize. I'm just INSANELY bitter and jealous

Speaking of
The Color You Bleed, I just managed to finish yesterday.
Who do I have to bribe to get fanart of Azure?
you will go to the paper towns and you will never come back
@ginger: My one problem is that occasionally I need to stop reading because I go on a tangent in my mind, or I start thinking something through, or my mind starts to create a mini fanfic in my mind of what might have happened...
Great, even your tangents are at least productive.
Stupid lack of creativity.
God, I am REALLY depressed today

Your distraction is at least caused by your own creativity, as opposed to me, who simply gets distracted

Goddammit! I need to break myself out of this funk.
I'm currently in depressed mode. Nothing I do can snap me out of it
