If there's another halloween special, I'd like a horror movie throwback.
Really though, I just want an
Alien parody. If the writers could get away with it...

Ponies in Horror movies, hm? Now I'm imagining all 4 Phantasm movies with ponies, or any of M.R. James' ghost stories substituting ponies for the characters. Unsurprisingly, things are suddenly a lot less frightening in the latter case, though I suppose Oh Whistle, and I'll Come to You, My Lad would still retain much of the terror.

Gully Foyle is my name,
and Terra is my nation.
Deep space is my dwelling place,
and death's my destination.

Well, they included a sodding
Trainspotting reference. So why not?

Who would be the Tall Man? (Sadly, I only ever saw the first Phantasm movie)

Now I've got the image of Discord lobbing silver DRILL BALLS at Fluttershy's face!
What are the other Phantasm movies like btw?

Wasn't that scene with Pound Cake crawling on the ceiling a bit of a Shout Out to Alien? I have yet to see it, so I'm not sure.
I can't decide whether you should live or die.
Sky, you've never seen the original Alien? What a shame! Unless you aren't into horror movies. Nah, there weren't any points in the original Alien where it came down from the ceiling. It was a lot more claustrophobic and tense than it's sequels. That's why I generally ignore 2 and 4. 2 was fun but didn't capture the horror and I actually liked 3 despite its faults.

The other Phantasm Films are basically one part
After the End and one part
Cosmic Horror Story. They get really weird and insanely over-the-top. I'm not really sure how to describe them as weird. Basically in the 2nd the lead manages to escape the Tall man briefly and at the end he gets captured because his love interest was actually a silver sphere piloting a person puppet. In the 3rd, the ice cream man saves him and they go after the Tall Man who has basically done the same thing he did in the first movie to towns all over the world. The lead starts having visions of his brother who is now a sphere. He then gets captured AGAIN and we learn that he's got a golden sphere in his head. Then there's some time travel and attempts to stop the creation of the Tall Man which only result in his creation. Basically the movies continue in fever dream fashion.

I'd love a dream monster just so we could have a Nightmare On Elm Street reference

That was a serious question btw What are the Phantasm sequels like?

Hmmm...
Kane's death comes to mind. I suppose Spike could do that with....something. I'm thinking out of a pile of candy.
And Dallas's death could be done by Rarity. Crawling through some pipes, minding her own business....then OOGIE BOOGIE GON GET RAPED by allegory penis monster.
...not sure why I think Spike should be a xenomorph.

Or a predator reference?

That would make me so happy

I'd personally like a reference to
The Changeling or A Turn of the Screw, or heck even The Haunting of Hill House.

It's hard to come up with ideas that don't have obvious censor dodging for violent moments.

Meh, I'd like generic psycho killers.

Yes!!!! Exactly. Or actually, I'd like to see some reference to classics like The Cabinet of Dr Caligari or Vampyr.
But Cenobite ponies would be simultaneously awesome and so, so depressing.

Wait, I thiink problem here Mousa, was you saw the first Evil Dead which isn't funny and has notorious tree rape. Evil Dead 2 is what you should have seen, much more humor in that.
