I wonder if they will ever get their cutie marks in canon. Sweetie Belle would get singing, Scootaloo skating but is Applebloom's talent really cleaning? I cant remember.

I foresee a scene... the Crusaders come across an old yearbook belonging to either Applejack or Rarity. They find lots of silly high school photos, Rarity in her "80's phase", Applejack in her softball uniform, Pinkie and her sisters in a glam rock band... and a random picture that has Cheerilee and Big Macintosh just standing next to each other.

From this, the Crusaders deduce that they are in fact former high school sweethearts and set out to rekindle the supposed old flame. Hilarity Ensues.

I will laugh merrily, with many "Ho!'s", if that is the case.

I think they were plans for a spinoff it they do I think they won't.

But even without cutie marks they are great characters they would still be as intersting even with cutie marks.

I want that to happen mainly to see a younger Rarity.

@Kyler: It's implied that AB's talent is more along the lines of remodeling or interior design. See "The Show Stoppers" and how she basically took the treehouse from disaster zone to actually pretty cool in the course of an afternoon.

If they do get their Cutie Marks, it'll probably be at the end of the season; maybe in the final episodes before the season finale. Otherwise it's too much continuity for the show.

Ya never know. They can get their cutie marks and still have wacky adventures, get covered in tree saps, all that good stuff. Michelle Creber (Apple Bloom's VA) has said she can't wait for the day she reads the script and it says "AB has cutie mark".

Basically, Hasbro knows that Bronies exist, but they have no idea how to market the franchise to deal with us at the moment. They just want some time to formulate a plan for our demographic and hold no ill will toward us. Bronies in general just caught them completely off guard.

Ah. Well that's ok, we don't actually WANT them to market to us, right? Cause that would imply changing the show, and we like it the way it is. Not that I would automatically be against any sort of change, but I don't want to see them try and drastically overhaul the show.

I think it's less about overhauling the show and more about overhauling the rest of the franchise to catch up to the show, like the merch and the supplementary material. The writers of the show are already well aware of us and deal with us quite nicely with little nods here and there. Hasbro is also really good about leaving people doing good work alone and not resorting to Executive Meddling from my experience with Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons.
