Comment on Lesson Zero review: I'm surprised that when you say Rarity isn't at her best, you don't note that she makes up for the silliness by being the only one apart from Spike to notice that Twilight is really having problems. True, she's not at her best but she's still being empathic.

Also, I think Lesson Zero is probably my favorite episode. It made for a good focus episode for Twilight when to me it always feels like she's really more observing everyone than really doing thing.

Edit: Sweetie Belle doesn't really stand out much for me whereas Applebloom is at least in my top ten favorite characters.

I still laugh at how quickly Luna's "woobie" fanon personality was demolished in Luna Eclipsed. Absolutely no one was expecting her to be a Large Ham.

@Arha: Yeah, in each review there's usually at least one thing that I notice like a week later and go "crap why didn't I think of that when I was writing it?" If I remember right, somebody actually did bring it up in the comments. I think I remember facepalming when I realized that I missed that.

Not to mention that literally every time I reread one of them I always find typos. I should really get a proofreader.

Luna's still delightly adorkably awkward, only it's tempered by her flamboyant hamminess :3

They should definitely spin Daring Do off into her own series. Each episode would be titled "Daring Do and the (fill in the blank)".

Yeah, she's still awkward, only they basically flipped the reason for it. Fanon Luna was awkward because she was cripplingly shy and quiet. Canon Luna is awkward because she inadvertently terrifies everyone around her with her constant scenery chewing. And it's awesome.

If that show is as well-made as the stuff we saw in today's episode, I would be all for it. Those action scenes were seriously pretty impressive.

Anyway, I need to get to bed. I have a bunch of crap I need to get done tomorrow before the Super Bowl starts. Night everybody.

I find it a little disappointing that Luna seems so underused. I was hoping after Luna Eclipsed that I'd see her at least one or twice more before catching up. While she can't be as prominent as Celestia, she is nominally her equal.

Okay, I just watched that Rainbow Dash Presents Captain Hook the Biker Gorilla video and holy crap did that Legends of the Hidden Temple reference crack me up.

This was a pretty good episode, though I dunno. Something bout it seemed a bit off. Can't really put my finger on it...

I figured it was referring to some stupid adventure game thing but I didn't get the specific reference.

@Enlong: The ponies position their limbs like humans? The jackal antagonist has eyes where nose holes should be? The plot is incredibly thin and hinges on Dash acting like a kid?

Maybe it was the whole "reading out loud" thing?

I was glad to see that the book wasn't entirely an Indiana Jones reference, despite what that preview clip made us think.

Ninja'd. Dash's adamant refusal to read at all in the beginning was a tad contrived...

It was good, but not great. Or maybe I'm overthinking it? I dunno.

Glad to see that it didn't cause anyone to explode around here. That's always nice.

Man, your reviews are really making me dislike Pinkie Jteeth. I was just sort of indifferent to her while noting all her moments of selfishness, hedonism and jerkiness but having them spelled out again kind of rubs it in.

The reading out loud thing makes sense, actually, I figured that someone not accustomed to reading would do that. I guess it does make it look odd that she thinks she can hide her new hobby while doing that, though.

I thought it was an okay episode too, and the moral isn't off-kilter, and not as cliched as I think it would be, at least wording wise.*

I need to mention this because while I like episodes like Luna, Eclipsed the moral is just weird
