^They do seem to be a lot more common in Equestria, but only unicorns can find them without a lot of exploratory digging.

Well of course gems grow.

The fact that rock farms are a thing means this makes sense.

@Stream: So what photoeditor is that? It doesn't look like Photoshop or GIMP.

@Gems and Rock farming: Gemstones are prolly a byproduct of the force we call Magic in Equestria. I would not be surprised if metals cost more than gems because of this. Aluminium in Equestria is prolly waaaaaaaay more expensive than rubies or sapphires.

Ah, I see, this must be the Badass Damsel episode if everyone is imagining Rarity doing the pony equivalent of I Broke A Nail and being generally damsel-y.

And yeah Red I just mean if you can find them that close to the surface and without getting far from town that the things must replenish themselves somehow.

Also, it's a little strange to see dogs portrayed as the bad guys in a kid's show.

And yes, this is the episode (combined with "Suited For Success") that made Rarity best pony for me.

My personal theory is that gems can be grown in Equestria (like all other things) but like strawberries they are much better and much harder to find in the wild. Also Rarity's gem finding spell is a pretty rare thing (no pun intended) that she discovered on complete accident (as you will see latter on).

@Ace, It's called Paint Tool Sai, I saw it on the stream of the person who does the My Little Chubby Blobs and saw how easy it seemed to make her work so I went and got it via internet fairy and now digital art is as easy as 1-2-3 for a shlub like me with no experience and only a mouse

Rainbow Dash can only do the Sonic Rainboom once for each Element of Harmony. She'll die shortly after doing her final Sonic Rainboom which will be the one for herself.

Speaking of Rainbow Dash, I watched "May the Best Pet Win" this morning. Great episode, even if I saw the whole "Tank becomes Dash's pet" thing coming from a mile away. Fluttershy's geeking out over Dash wanting a pet was just plain adorable.

@Mousa: Is it free/GPL licensed? Or will I need to resort to Forbidden Rituals to acquire it?

Currently I got GIMP on my desktop, and I managed to grab an obsolete mini-notebook running XP at cutthroat pricing to run my ancient copy of Photoshop 6.0 on (Because Adobe is a terrible company and deliberately made it hard to run legacy Photoshop in 7 without jumping through hoops). Also I am horribly rusty at image editors not named MS Paint.

@Badwolf: I disagree, now that Dashie has cleared the doubt in her mind, she has once more lifted the mental block that prevented her from acheiving Rainboom speed. She can only perform the Sonic Rainboom when she is free of worries.

@Rich and CDRW: I'm a tiger (Chinese Zodiac) and I take offense at that. I know a number of perfectly sociable if slightly jumpy stray tabbys that live in my neighborhood.

@ L Mage: I do like Rainbow Dash. The Sonic Rainboom is some kind of magic and magic generally has costs, the Sonic Rainboom is mythical so few ponies will have ever done it. So far Rainbow has only used the Sonic Rainboom to help her friends. Rarity in Sonic Rainboom, Fluttershy in Cutie Mark Chronicles and AJ in Lesson Zero. Basically my argument boils down to, it would be pretty cool if this is how it's done.

@Ace Nope, SAI has a 30-day period before you have to purchase it. Besides, GIMP does the job well enough in my experience, so have you considered sticking with it?

@Bad technically, it wasn't the RAINBOOM that helped Fluttershy. She and the other contestants simply smacked her off the cloud when they took off.

Also, she used up her single use helper power to destroy a BARN?! -_-

Yeah, I'll get to grips with it, at least the keybinds and UI are close enough to Photoshop that I can adapt. Eventually.
