I'm sometimes weary when it comes to Nayuki's Word Of God. Yes he works on the show and knows more than we do and has provided some neat behind the scenes trivia, but he's a layout artist and not someone in charge of the "lore" of the show.
Its like asking Samwise Diddier about story related stuff for World of Warcraft or StarCraft. He doesn't write the games, just draws awesome art for them.

On a production team, though, most departments need to know at least the main details of the work. They need to know the story and the characters for those fine little details like body language and stuff. Of course smaller details like naming conventions might slip past him, but even if he wasn't told it he's in a position to pass along questions, especially if he's becoming a face.
