@ Freeman: I was diagnosed back in August. I don't need insulin, but it still sucks.

On the bright side, I've lost 14 pounds by eating healthier. My sister introduced me to flavored seltzer water, which is actually a pretty tasty alternative to soda (I can't stand the aftertaste of diet soda.)

@Demon: It basically depends on how big of a splash you make when you show up, or how many other new guys show up at the same time. We've had a couple new posters recently (welcome to any that I've missed), so I doubt you'll get stuck with it.
