I think the problem with RD is that her flaws actually hurt other ponies besides her.

For instance Twilight's excessive estressfulness or Fluttershy's shyness only makes you to love them more, no so with RD.But she is a good girl and even sweet on the inside imo.

yeah but it didn't hurt their feelings in a "she is mean/jerk" way.

Dash is definitely the pony most prone to jerkishness, but I love her anyways.

RD's brand of flaws involve the emotional belittlement of others. Everyone else's is mostly making them a danger to themselves.

I'd say that all of the Mane Cast's flaws lead to the endangerment of others.

Uh...no, it doesn't. She doesn't actively go out of her way to insult others or make them miserable, she just tends to brag a lot.

Remember her obsessive quest to get the Wonderbolts' attention in Best Night Ever?

Remember how she kept saving people from problems she herself caused?

Actually, AJ's pride only served to escalate the problem in Over A Barrel. The final battle was partly her fault.

Applebuck Season was basically a showcase of all the ways AJ could cause problems for others

The harm Rarity causes is usually centered around her social-fu prowess.

The argument there is whether or not Rarity was justified in that episode

I'd have to agree, RD never belittles others or puts them down intentionally. At least directly, there are times she may inadvertently do so second hoofedly, by pushing herself up she brings the other pony down, but she never means to, she just never fully thinks out what she says before she says it. And yes she's a bit of a braggart, but we've seen over and over that all her bragging is done as much to convince herself as it is others, deep down she really is very insecure with herself and uses her bragging and boasting to try and hide that. And she's the element of Loyalty for a reason.

That being said, she is the one with the most abrasive personality, and by far the one that's most likely to inadvertently offend somepony, but she is still a caring, loyal pony who will stand by her friends no matter what.

Actually, I'm fairly certain Rarity hasn't even caused a major problem, much less due to perceived jerkishness (Unless we're counting the "negotiation" in Dragonshy)
