Btw...the Cats v Dogs thing?

Think kids next door, with dogs as the kids and cats as the adults...using weird tech like wooden helicopters etc.

Aw man, whey does everything cool happen after I go to bed?

Anyway, another Christian brony here *high fives*.

I also second, third, whatever the "I refuse to be like those Westboro f*ckwipes >.>" sentiment. Kinda goes against those "Love your neighbor as yourself" and "Do unto others as you would have them do to you" things. Come to think of it, that's really not far off from the show's whole "Love and tolerance" lessons.

@Applelight: *pats on the back* Good luck with the tests. Try not to let it get to you too much. I remember when I had to do that stuff, and obsessing over it only makes it worse.

Anyway, I'd love to be a writer as well. I love making stuff up. tongue

I think, from my experience, almost everyone has fancies of being an author at some point or another. It's not really a unique thing to strive for.

Not that I'm putting you down or anything, just something I noticed.

AHR: Ah, makes sense. I did finish a handful of my own, but I also had something like two dozen ideas that I started and just kind of abandoned. I've since learned to be a little more disciplined about idea hopping. And don't worry about your script first draft being not so good. Everyone's first draft of anything isn't very good. That's what editing passes are for.

Yeah. But I don't have anyone willing to look at it. And I feel like I'm too young to send it in to an actual publishing company.

There was one other thing...I am a pretty talented drawer and painter.

My teachers were shocked to hear that I was going to Colleage to study History/English as opposed to furthering my skills in that field...I should have listened to them.

Edit: Thanks JT. smile

Now I'm off to work, and I'm taking an early night, so I may not be back untill lunchtime tomorrow. So with that,

peace out!

I taught myself how to draw. Which means it's basically a clumsy disjointed mess.

Aos: I plan to. I plan to. I just need to know if I'm any good or not first.

AHR: Yea, finding readers can be a little tough. The only two instances I've been able to get any real feedback is when I was in a creative writing course and when I started writing pony fic. I've found a decent self editing technique is to leave the story for a while (probably at least 2 days, possibly more) and then come back and read through it once I've forgotten part of how I executed it. It's not quite the same as the fresh reader, but I've caught some "what was I thinking?" type stuff that way.

Me, I plan to do some kind of worksafe doujinshi or something, lol. I can then make some Original Content work of my own and indie off.

Pony fancomic? Maybe.

I'd need to write her story well because oc characters tend to get disliked for being "too perfect".

Kuroi: Yeah. I guess the thing is, I'm a brainstormer. I spent 4 years just brainstorming this before I started writing it. So for me, it's kinda hard to distance myself like that, since I've spent so much time with it.

But that is what I did with my second draft. So there is that.

@AHR: I've actually written a fair amount of stuff, I just don't think much of it is worth putting out there at the moment. If I'm going to take the time to write it, I'd want it to actually be good. As of now I just have a couple of fanfic projects going, which are admittedly kinda half-assed. I do have an original work thing in progress, but it's still in the worldbuilding stages and due to school I really don't have the time to spend on it. I actually wrote like an 80 page story when I was like 12, but it was rather horrible (and rather obviously a Redwall knockoff, only with people instead of animals).

@JT: Agreed as always. I don't understand how Christians can promote hate.

@Ace: If you show Bri's human and fallable side very early on, it can provide some sympathy for her. I look forward to seeing what you do with her.

Very wonderful greetings, thread companions.

Unfortunately, I'm writing this because I'm leaving the thread. I know no one will care, but Applelight missed me once when I was gone for a while, so at least I'm explaining my reasoning for him. To put it short, the thread doesn't make me happy at all anymore; in fact, it constantly stresses and frustrates me. The last few days sealed it. We had three ragefests in one day and casual use of the N-word against an African-American poster, urging another mod interference. No change is to be seen on the horizon. The same topics, the same characters and episodes will again and again lead to screaming rageposts, followed by page after page of exasperated people trying calming statements in vain. Reading the thread became a depressing chore for me.

This thread gave me alot, and I thank you for it. I received tons of links to awesome stuff that I still regurarly watch/listen to and I received a warm welcome into the herd, which I needed after a frustrating time "in the stable". To the people who still always post nicely and with respect to others, you know who you are and I salute you, please never change. (Special note @Mousa the 14th, if you should read this or someone tells you: you are my favorite humanized!pony artist for a lot of reasons; please, please keep up the tumbler, it is unique and great!).

Bye everypony.

@Ace: To reitterate what I said about showing Bri's fallable side with an example. You indicated that you liked my version of Star Swirl who is effectively an OC Stand In. There's a reason that I started with her meeting a paychologist. I wanted to highlight her weaknesses and demonstrate that she's not a Twilight clone and apparently it paid off.

AHR: Well, I'm somewhat the same way. My mind likes to always be thinking, whether I like it or not. I'm not sure how closely this could apply to you, since I don't have much info on your work, but I've been developing an original setting for over a decade, so when I want to let a story stew for revision, I usually temporarily move to working on another (usually on another continent or time period to keep myself from drifting back to the other story). Basically I've got so much going on in this setting that I distract myself from it, with it. evil grin

Fell: I'm sorry to hear that. If you still want someone to talk about new episodes with, feel free to throw me a PM.
