You ever had that weird thing where you associate something with something totally unrelated just because you watched/read/listened to them around the same time?
Weird thing?

I'm absurdly synesthetic.

I always leave people wondering when I forget nobody around me is. "How could you put this spice into this soup? The soup is loud, and the spice is purple!"

@Ginger, It's an otaku-pandering poor man version of Azumanga Daioh with a creepy soulless character design that tries to convince us these 8-year olds are high school girls, and don't you dare chime in Dantes, I know you're out there with your creepy love for that mediocre show. Lucky Star is not as great as you make it out to be, it's just okay.

And by "poor man's version" you mean "better".

I mean it's not as good as Azumanga Daioh and it tries to be like it only it's even moreso about nothing and it's actively mindless.

I do INFINITELY prefer it to Azumanga Daioh though. The only times I ever chuckled at AD was whenever that creepy guy teacher was around [lol]

Um....not to sound rude or anything guys. But...topic, Lucky Star is not it.

In other news I am heart broken to learn that there is no fanfiction crossovers between MLP and Spyro.

It's okay, Mousa. We already established that you have terrible taste and you are wrong about lots of things. We aren't even mad.

Before this gets into a big argument, the deal is that Lucky Star as a much more narrow demographic than Azumanga Daioh. If you fall into that demographic, you'll probably enjoy Lucky Star a lot, while everyone outside of it is wondering what the big deal is. It doesn't have a very universal appeal.

@L Mage: I was actually tossing around a crossover for a while where Spyro ends up in Equestria, but I never really developed it, and I have too many ongoing projects to add any other stories at the moment.

[up][up][up][up]Well you better get to work on correcting that then.

I've never watched LS or AD. AD looks alright, and LS looks. . .odd.

If I hand't apparently sold my Spyro game many years ago (why did I do that T.T) I would go back and play Ripto's Rage to refresh myself about the story then write a crossover myself.

Terrible Taste? Moi? Hah, do not make me laugh.
My points are more or less objective. Lucky Star is better at humour than Azumanga Daioh, what's with the latter's reliance on Running Gags that are usually unfunny themselves, and looney tunes esque gags with "wacky" replaced by "cute".

there is no fanfiction crossovers between MLP and Spyro.
I have no idea how would that work out.

Humor = Objective?

Does not compute.

Note: I have seen neither of these shows, and the only thing I know about it is that Lucky Star character designs creep me out. Those eyes...

Humour is, funny enough, hands down the easiest thing to measure objectively and write objectively. It boils down to a set of rules (I recall there being thirty six).

How do you think comedians are able to produce so much new material? It's a trade

Oh, dear.

This picture isn't canon, you know!

Fluttershy is definitely a sub.

So good humor isn't what people consider funny or not? Because I know that what I find funny is an opinion, not fact.

There are comedians who I think are trash but are filthy rich. Dane Cook, Carlos Mencia, etc. Enough people like them that they've even had their own TV shows and specials dedicated to them at on point or another, but I know a lot of people who really don't like them either. Humor is not universal.

Yes. Being humorous correlates with being funny.

Probably, but it's funnier to think of her as a dom.

Then why don't I find some things funny yet other things funny? There has to be SOME measure of subjectivity when itcomes to humour

Then why don't I find some things funny yet other things funny?

One of my old supervisors once told me I had no sense of humor. My reply was, "Of course, I have a sense of humor. I work here, don't I?"

Somehow, I kept working there. [lol]

@Ginger

I see subjetivity like this everyone will have every possible opinion for starters. Hence the reason that there are so many schools of thought about everything. For instance most people like chocolate but some don't.

Is like going to a starbucks coffe shop. Some people don't like coffee and will never go there. The people that do may prefer another store.

But the people that do like starbucks will hang out and be friends but even then that group of friends will hrdly ever like the coffee the exact way and will ask for cutomised coffee Some will like special milk and others with no sugar.Ultimately the best coffee. is the one you like best.

Sorry for my uber complex methphor lol.

Of course humor is subjective. There may be certain show formulas that predict what other material someone will find funny - say, Family Guy and every other puerile 'comedy' out there - but even on this forum, several people seem to find Terry's comics hilarious. I just think they're stupid.
Can you think inside the chimney?
