Oddly, RD has moved MUCH faster than she did in Sonic Rainboom on certain occasions and DIDN'T produce a Sonic Rainboom.

A human falling to earth in a special suit can reach speeds of like...150mph. Even if Dash was only doing something like 300mph for the Rainboom...that's still pretty impressive.

Unless...the Rainboom only happens because a mystical force lets it happen...the mane six were born to weild the Eo H...a Rainboom was needed to get them a CM each...to save Rarity etc. (Btw, I'm not sure the rainnuke is the same thing).

But if reaching 300mph is the only criteria necessary for breaking the Magic Barrier (although, a Sonic Rainboom is defined as being when you make a rainbow and a Sonic boom at the same time. Implying that the two can be done seperately) then I highly doubt they'd be as rare as they are.

I dunno, I still don't think a fight between them would be as one sided as everyone seems to think it is. They got into a serious fight in Fall Weather Friends, remember, and they seemed pretty equal. (AJ actually TACKLED RD out of the fucking sky)

Favoritism? I'm not bitter that The Princess of the Night doesn't get nearly as much screentime as is befitting Her regal stature in Equestria, no, not at all bitter.

Naming convention:

Earth ponies are named after foods? Unicorns named after celestial things? Pegasi named after weather phenomena? Not a hard and fast rule, but it makes sense..

Guys I've just an idea for how the next big villian will appear...and it involves the Windigos and the Penguin Empire.

Penguin agents (traitor ponies probably) trigger some sort of race war...which gets the Windigos into action...they freeze the land, but that means nothing to the Penguins, who roll into the New Antarctic...and only the fire of friendsip can undo it.

Celestia is EASILY one of the biggest obstacles facing any mlp fanfic writer. I don't write, but I like to come up with ideas, and she's ALWAYS a problem.

I think I've come up with a pretty believable way to de-power Celestia for my fic. After banishing NM and taking up control of both sun and moon, she hasn't gotten a single wink of sleep in a thousand years. Even for an immortal that's gotta be pretty taxing. It's also great for explaining any stupid decisions she makes.

For all of her great power at very least we know she is not omniscient. Conspiracies, espionage and other subtle plans would be the route to go for anyone wanting to put an Equestria-wide threat in their fics.

That is not to say invasions are impossible, but it necessitates either getting Celestia out of the picture or bringing up another godly figure.

@Applelight: Were you trying to diminish RD's achievements before? If so, why?

I've always seen Windigo spelt "Wendigo." That's also how it's spelt in The Hub's captioning. I don't want to change the five-million-or-so references to "Windigo"s on the episode recap page unless I'm sure it's a misspelling.

You'd have to wake up really early in the morning to pull a fast one on Celestia. So early, in fact, that you then have to contend with Luna, as well.

I on the other hand have always been more fascinated by how mortals (even exceptionally powerful ones) might try to subvert their rule.

That's not surprising. Compared to other places we are pretty anti-Rainbow Dash here. Though yes, you should try not to be petty in your. . .character bashing.

@Mio Personally, I don't like unbalanced groups. Realism be FUCKED, I just hate it when one person is consistantly superior to another. Especially when the gimmick is that their supposed to be a group.

That's why I tend to try and diminish Dash's achievments.
