I wonder if the whole losing his mind was due to the rate at which he grew. Maybe Basil and Razorfang acquired their horde at a slower rate and retained their minds because of it. Or perhaps it is due to the purity of the hordes, Basil and Razorfang both only had gold and gems while Spike's was just random stuff.

Maybe the Wonderbolts just happened to be there and so tried to help.

Note that Rainbow Dash can identify Fluttershy and Pinkie based only on their screams. Interesting.

I think that Basil and Razorfang were probably just finished growing, which is why they were intelligent. Spike was going through puberty - hormones, and all that.

ok so thinking that dragons can grow either from getting older or hoarding stuff. With the hoarding part being the kind that ends up making them, well Draconic, greedy, mean tempered, etc... While growing naturally with age lets them keep there personality intelligence.

basicly it's the magiclly induced hyper growth that makes them so evil-ish, and the greedier they are the worse it gets. So as long as Spike learns his lesson and keeps his greed under conrtoll he can grow up and not lose himself

Assuming ITAV is It Takes a Village? Wouldn't know. I've never read it, actually.

I thought it looked alright. Kind of the same as her gala dress, though. Pinkie's was my favourite - it looked so fluffy and warm.

And yeah, Rarity has a tendency to botch her element at first and then get it right in spectacular fashion later on. I mean, look at Sisterhooves Socia.
