I think I figured out how the cast might interact with the S Ps...a band of them get a gig in Ponyville thanks to their dodgy manager...but have no way of leaving the water!

This scene sounds like it would be right at home in This Is Spinal Tap.

How many in the band?

I was thinking the "face(s)" of the band would be the lead guitarist/singer, the rhythm guitarist/background singer and the bass player, but an octoquine could easily play all three instruments.
