Maybe she's just annoyed that the show is so visually-geared so she can't really get into it?

Specifically Vinyl's comment that Ponyville has poor acoustics and that she'll lose him if he's too far away.

And it shouldn't be all of her character, but something more noticeable.

Disabilities can be managed and you can do the things you want in life, but it's always going to be a struggle in some form.

Those are usually cities though. How many small towns have disasters happen that regularly?

That's kind of the point I'm trying to make. Even with the many incidents that happen in Ponyville, it's still not as bad as Metropolis, Gotham, or even Townsville.

Ah, I see. What I meant by that was... I think - bearing in mind I wrote this like three years gone, almost - that the houses were smaller and more set apart, so the sound would dissipate faster than a city with big, tight buildings that would trap sound.

as Vinyl can clearly see and is annoyed by Fluttershy's visual attempts at being funny.

I don't remember that. Guess I'll have to rewatch it.

Heck, Townsville was always being attacked by giant monsters, silly villains with way too much ego, or something weird like a cockroach invasion.

Curses, The Powerpuff Girls have ruined my plans to takeover Townsville! But I Mojo Jojo will stop at nothing to get control over there precious City even if I go without breakfast for one day while I plot and scheme to rid the Powerpuff Girls forever!

That's the problem with superheros. It's impossible for them to succeed for long.

Pretty much. PPGG is one of the few cartoons where you actually don't dislike the villains, but still want the Girls to beat them if only because it will be funny.

Speaking of, have a video of Twilight thinking she's Mojo Jojo.

@Mio: I'm with you on the superhero comment. While there are regular disasters, they don't happen on a daily basis like they would in a big city. Ponyville isn't a large enough town to believable have a lot of disasters in such a short period. And the fact that they relied on very mundane disasters rather than monsters or something is really weird.

it's even worse for supervillains. they hardly win at all.

Megamind had it right.

You're never going to win, but that's kind of the point of being a supervillain, isn't it? Let's just have fun with this!

God I miss watching the Powerpuff Girls and it along with Kim Possible were the only shows that were targeted towards girls and didn't talk down to it's audience that is before Friendship is Magic aired that is.

@J Teeth: I would actually chalk that up to Merriwether's seeming inexperience with writing that kind of story.

It also showed up to a lesser extent in Putting Your Hoof Down. She likes to change the setting to fit the plot.

I think for me the funniest part of MMDW was where Rainbow Dash kept having problems because she would stop to say her catchphrase or announce herself, meaning that she would miss her chance to actually do any heroic acts, in a good subversion of the Talking Is A Free Action trope (something that kind of confused me when I first became a fan of magical girl anime).

On the earlier subject of Bon Bon having clones, that made me remember one of the pony "birthday fortune" things where based off of your birthday, it would give you a scenario and a pony to go with it. The one that it gave me was something like "make battle clones of Bon Bon, " which confused me at the time because I wasn't sure what "battle clones" were. That was before the Canterlot Wedding story came out, and then it was Hilarious In Hindsight because that story DOES feature battling clones in the plot!

the mirror pool clones are duplicates that, while visually perfect, seem to only have the cliffnotes version of your personality.
