Apparently the Captain Obvious trope page explains they had to say that because some people couldn't see clearly and they had to say what was happening.

[up][up]Makes sense. They didn't have much in the way of eye glasses back then (at least not for the common masses) and if the ratio of vision impaired people was the same as today that means there'd be a LOT of people who couldn't really see the stage.

Am I the only one who didn't think Starscream was acting much different than usual?

@Thirikal: we lost one of our own yesterday. Posey... is no longer with us.

@JT: Pretty much.

@Starscream: Try draping a wet towel over the back of your neck. that area loses and gains heat really easily, so it's a good way to cool your whole body down. I did it while it was most brutal during the summer, before my roommate got an Air Conditioner for the Living Room(When you have five sweaty dudes over for Dn D every week, sometimes you make concessions)

Apple: that really sucks - Hate it when people apply unrealistic expectations to others.

A friend on Facebook today posted a "Hey all you guys bored with life or fed up with your job, CHANGE IT and stop whining!"

(Note: not really one of those people, I dislike my job/life situation as it stands but also understand that nobody really want's to hear me complain about such things, so I tend to keep it mostly to myself unless asked)

That's great and all, but the job market is terrible. I've been trying to change job for past year and a half and I'm seemingly unable to advance thanks to a number of factors like location, being too educated, and not really the sort of person who might be able to hard sell to others. If you got lucky and found something, great, but don't assume everyone is in the same boat as you.

@Bluespade ......... Thanks. The first thing that I get once I wake up is this. And for the record sorry if people thought those bouts of randomness was annoying. Not my proudest moment on T Vtropes.

[up][up][up][up]Blech. As someone actively trying to get a new, better job, that guy needs to eat a dick. It's not that easy. Especially depending on industry. Trying to really break into a creative industry is hard as hell, even with an education.

@Kegisak: Yeah, some people don't realize that not everyone can just drop their current job at the drop of a hat. I'm just glad I have decent job security. It doesn't pay much, but my chances of getting fired are very low, so I'm not going anywhere until I have a really nice alternative lined up.

@Bluespade Oh details, details, details. Who cares? I'm fine now plus I'm just taking it easy for the time being. God jesus christ, and I've got an induction day tomorrow for my college...Jeez.

@Kegisak Nah it's cool I think being in a classroom for a couple of hours is gonna be worse than tonight's episode to be honest. But I just need to keep cool under these temperatures right? Just nothing to worry about just need to know when to post is all.

I'm in a similar situation. I have a stable job that pays alright (read: on the higher end of the Low Income scale), but my brother, who I live with and pays half the bills, does not. To his credit he has somehow amassed a huge collection of contacts whom he can get temporary work from, to the point where he sometimes works for 3 different companies in the same week. He still doesn't make enough to cover his half of the bills though.

[up][down]i'm in the same boat as you guys, but a sure-fire way of not getting a job is to give up on looking for one. i know it get discouraging. sometimes the places i apply to don't even give me the time of day. but trust me on this: perseverance pays off, especially with a problem like this.

I've tried to get a job before but no good came of it unforunately. I even tried to get work over at the Disney Store nearest to me and even that had no placements for me. So yeah in a way job finding is just bullshit for a lack of a better word.

I'm lucky to have a secure job that pays pretty well overall. Unfortunately, the cost of living in the DC/Metro area is pretty high, so home ownership is still out of the picture for me for the foreseeable future.

My dad keeps telling me I need to do more to set myself up for a job after I graduate. The main problem with that is 1) I have no real idea what I want to do (being a mathematics major is both a blessing and a curse, since it can apply to so many things but doesn't point me in any particular direction) and 2) as you all have said, the job market's terrible, especially for people fresh out of school. Which is weird because I keep hearing that the economy's back to the way it used to be, yet everyone's still scared about hiring.
I have no hat and I must scream.

@Kegisak: Honestly, aside from the pay, it's not too bad. I only get minimum wage, but I also get decent benefits, and it's close enough that I can walk to it, which saves me a ton on gas money.
