I thought Bedknobs and Broomsticks also had a bit with the human cast traveling underwater and interacting with animated fish, as well. But I don't even remember if I watched the whole movie.

Changing subjects...

So, Trixie and Sunset Shimmer are both foils for Twilight Sparkle. How many foils does Twi have? Would Jade Singer from the comic microseries also count? Are there any others I'm forgetting?
And, since today is apparently National Jump To Conclusions Day...

Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.

We're discussing old, semi-animated Disney Movies!

Apparently.

I'm trying to figure out whether or not I should feel guilty about the lack of work I'm doing, considering said lack of work is brought about by, you know, nothing much happening.

Well I just watched Mary Poppings, continuing my cultural education via watching classic Disney movies that actually aren't very good (Peter Pan was a diaspointment too)

@Meta: In a way, the entire mane cast could qualify.

@Story: Mary Poppins was okay. But it did give way to one of my favorite image macros. I mostly like the older Dinsey movies for their art over their stories.

[up] Reading into things way too much, I'm kinda seeing parallels between Star Swirl, Sunset, and Twilight showing up. Maybe. As in powerful unicorns that reject friendship. Or at least until Twilight embraces it and achieves on higher levels. Or something like that.

Well, I was hoping for something a little more overt. You could reasonably call Trixie "Blue Twilight", but calling Rarity "White Twilight" would be too much of a stretch.

Yes, I'm trying to figure out if we have a full set of Twilight Rangers or not.

@Gwen: Ah, Star Swirl the bearded as Green Twilight! Or maybe Guy Twilight.

Twilight's not the only one with multiple Foil's either: RD has Fluttershy, AJ and maybe even Pinkie for the more friendly Foils, while she also has Gilda and especially Lighting Dust as Evil Counterpart Foil's.

Besides, Rarity prefers the name "White Thunder" from her MMA days.

But even their art was pretty bad by today's standards.

@Orion Oh, Orion, Orion, Orion, Orion, Orion, you've got a lot to learn about Disney. Disney is like waking up to find you've got presents on your birthday, it's like a warm feeling you get when your nestling by a cozy fireplace. In our world, whether it be a bad day or ya just can't get outta the house because it's raining, Disney movies will put back a smile on your face.

[up][up] Still, having to hand draw and paint all those frames is really impressive to me.

Oh, and I based my current icon on a Disney movie!

Sure it's impressive, but I'll take the reneissance era movies over the classic ones any day.

That scene in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind where they had the guy running behind the camera to apepar in two places in once was impressive (in the sense that it seems difficult to pull off, the actual effect was rather contrived), but that didn't make it a good movie.

[up] Agreed. The Hunchback of Notre Dame still makes squee when I watch it. It's even worse when I watch Spirited Away.

Disneigh is pretty awesome. Beauty and the Beast and Mulan are my favorite early revival films. The music in those is the peak of Disney's skill in that regard.

@Princess G Hell yeah! (High fives you back) Frollo is by far one of my favourite Disney villains and he's got one hell of a song at his disposal, no pun intended of course.

Urgh. I'm doing the ol' thread hop, and see Orion's here, and we're discussing Disney. Any other topics, as I can't exactly contribute to the topic that's immediately evident?
It's a Demonic Lighthouse Slide! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I beg of you, Durza, make it so.
