Pretty much. There's always going to be idiots, but on the whole we're pretty alright.

Of course, for many it's their first experience liking children's cartoons so there's some overjustification going on, and the show's reputation can get hyped too much because of it.

I think it helps that many of us had to get past the stereotypes many lob at us in the first place.

First exposure to ponies was when The Hub first aired in my house! I got bored and tired within the first ep, then made fun of it to my friends. Soon, I saw Demotivational posters of the show and wondered what the inside joke is/was. I tried a couple of episodes to find the memes and then found My little brony. I was truly enjoying it, and decided to join the fad.

tl;dr:Internet memes.

is hard to say what make me enter this fan don , since there's a lot of thing that influenced me like Know Your Meme, YTP, Pony Dot Mov and more but the first episode i watched is winter wrap up and that episode to me was...

HORRIBLE i turned off my tv before the ending

but some year latter after watching the same episode i loved it was the same thing but i don't know , it felled different

@Blissey: Well yeah, but that's 4chan, so par for the course, really.

But on the whole there are good and bad elements to the fandom. This thread is definitely one of the better parts. Still, a lot of places aren't too horrible, as long as you stay out of the comment sections.

The main issue with those is that everyone who's just like "okay" never comments, so you only see the haters and the people who white knight for the show.

I think we should do that, create tags that should have no rite being anywhere else due to how random they are.

I'm kind have this on and off thing with this show I watched quite a lot of season 1 but then went away from it and then I pretty much went back to it cuz I had nothing better to do and I discovered something called: Dr Whooves and Assistant and since I've had this graving interest for Derpy Hooves or Ditzy Doo? What is her name anyway is it Derpy or Ditzy? I have some people calling her Derpy and some people calling her Ditzy it's just like pick a name and stick with it already.

There was some confusion in the beginning, but it's been resolved that Ditzy Do is her real name and Derpy Hooves is her nickname. Though most just call her Derpy, Ditzy seems to have been losing some ground.

Pretty much everyone knows her as Derpy. Ditzy is a common secondary name. It's complicated.

Basically, she got the fan nickname Derpy based on her eyes before being given the official name Ditzy much later.

So nervous. Our ride to bronycon is one his way, so freaking nervous about him not getting here, and still 3 more hours till he's supposed to arrive to stress.

Ditzy was never "official" there was a pony named Ditzy Doo mentioned, but never shown, and fans assumed that was Derpy. When asked, Lauren just did a Shrug of God and said "She can be Ditzy if everyone wants her to be."

That referred to an unseen pony who was originally going to be Derpy, but was never made official. Given that she was actually called Derpy in-show I'd say that takes precedent, even if they did have to edit it out after the fact.
