Equestria Girls would have been the perfect time to have a Megan cameo. Barring that, humanized versions of the MLP Tales crew.

Ages? I believe we're in the Information Age. Or is it the Modern Age? Either way, I'm still looking forward to the Space Age.
Pinkie is the youngest, followed by RD. Fluttershy or AJ are the oldest. And Twi and Rarity are somewhere in the middle. but all within a year or so of each other.
That's awesome. Wonder if it's an alternate universe, or if it's supposed to be the same characters.

So we've stumbled across card games... all due to me bringing up one equine question... I must have hit some bad level of notoriety with this.
Anyways, as for card games, I occasionally played a few yu-gi-oh duels, but nowadays, seems to have died out for me.
The only one I was ever any good at was Pokemon. But coincidently, I played Netrunner for the first time today.

That.. doens't even begin to work. The mane 6 all got there CM's at the same time, and while ther might be some leeway in how old they were, only by a year or two, not that far apart.
Filly Fluttershy looked a bit taller and lankier than the others.
And how you figure they live for hundreeds of years?

I think the characters being different mentally has less to do with age than it does with people (or ponies) just naturally being more or less mature than each other. And the only justification for the centuries old ponies thing I can think of is the Granny Smith flashback, which I don't think is enough on its own. If ponies lived that long, I don't think Nightmare Moon would have fallen into myth that quickly.
I'd personally rather have a spinoff dealing with an entirely new cast. And preferable set in a different location. Like in Manehattan or something, just for a change of pace.
Sounds a lot like Korra. And I do agree that they should do something like that if the main show starts getting stale.

In Season 1, Twilight says that because Ponyville was founded by Earth Ponies they've been doing Winter Wrap Up without magic for 100's of years. The next season revealed that Granny Smith's family founded Ponyville. People took this to mean that Granny was 100's of years old, I for one always thought it was a minor retcon. Someone should ask the writers about it sometime.
Yeah, but Spongebob and Dan Vs. aren't specifically geared towards teaching lessons to kids; they're just supposed to be entertaining. MLP does have the characters deal with adult issues, but the lesson at the end of it is always something with a very wide application that isn't specific to adults.
They've really demphasized the aesop thing over time though.

Heck, I think the phrase "Dear Princess Celestia..." is only used twice in the entire third season.

@Story: I basically have a concept for that show in my head. It's set in the future and they have internet and shit. So badass.
I remember I tried watching the original DBZ after watching the abridged series. The filler from the very first episode made me give up that idea
I've only ever watched two episodes of DBZ. All I remember is a joke about a missing coffee machine on a spaceship.
