It's the Theiss Titillation Theory in action. Something is more appealing when a bit is left up to the imagination - or perhaps when it's just that little bit harder to get at. You know it's there, but you have to imagine it a bit.

Alternatively, Ponies may simply be like Trolls - the more clothing on, the more attractive... which considering that a troll's brain power lessens as they get hotter, actually has some kind of unnerving implications.

@Story: Probably because Discworld is a renaissance society and hasn't really come up with freezers. Plus, Trolls aren't immune to cold. One of them may have come up with the unified field theory while locked in a meat freezer, but he did it moments before freezing to death.

Still, it's cool to become smarter depending on the temperature. If humans could do that, we'd develop the warp drive ten years from now in antarctica.

@Discworld Trolls: One of them did come up with an air conditioning helmet to make him smart when he needs to be, but he doesn't really bother with it much. Trolls are pretty happy as they are. Most of them aren't really stupid anyway, just extremely simple. Plus most of the humans and other races living in Ahnk-Morpork are pretty dumb as well so the trolls don't exactly stand out.

Then there's Mr. Diamond, who can use his diamond body to maintain a cool temperature somehow, leaving him quite intelligent. He protects and supports the Troll race as a kind of behind-the-scenes-king.

This is also a fair point. Trolls are actually kind of fascinating in their simplicity. For example, they use a base-three numeral system. 1, 2, many, many 1, many 2, lotsa many, etc.

Technically it's not a base system, but a unique number system. S Till internally consistent though and far better than Roman Numerals, for example.

Also, I've decided to go ahead with the nuclear forces pony. As Storyyeller said, strong nuclear force actually just holds nuclei together (technically weak nuclear force prevents electrons from crashing into the nucleus). I've thought about how I can play with that. Don't worry. Exotic Matter does have a range limit on this power which prevents it from being too game changing.

Also, the Cakes have a bit of this talent which is how they get neutronium sprinkles for their MMMM.

Incidently, I've posted up to hero 19 of at least 25.
