Taking a page from Twilight, Pinkie consults a schedule called the Pinkie Party Planner to see if there were any parties that day. She has a mini freak out that she couldn't find a reason to make one and goes outside for inspiration.

Noticing that the weather is fresh and lovely after a recent Winter Wrap Up, she decides to throw the Spring-Sproing-Spring Party to celebrate the season.

She brings a pair of bouncing shoes that let her touch the clouds and bounces down to the market. Defaulting to her normal method of getting attention, she improvises a song describing the party.

The CMC overhear her singing and offer to help, in hopes of getting a mark in party-planning. She pulls out a few pairs of bouncy shoes from nowhere and tasks them with spreading the word.

The shoes provide two things. An excuse as to how Pinkie could follow Rainbow up to the clouds. And it's a way for Scootaloo to reach Cloudsdale.

Uh no. She has a third sister, but it's never revealed who she is. And the book does have some nice bits of humour and nails Pinkie downn solidly enough.

Indeed. Medaka Box is really fun and really broken. She's not even the most powerful character. Depending on how you count it, she may be as low as the seventh most powerful character (but the rock-paper-scissors nature of the verse makes that hard to quantify).

EDIT:Yeah, I heard that the book tells us that Pinkie has a third sister who is older, but we don't learn anything about her.

I just finished the first chapter of Our Eminence, Keg. So far I'm really digging it. As always, your characterisation is solid and characters interact with each other in a believable manner. I especially enjoyed your characterisation of the feral bat ponies as having a thought process that's alien to everyday ponies, while still making it compelling. I also want to slap the shit out of Jewel for being an arrogant prick, so good job there.

Ah, cool! The first few chapters are the ones I'm least sure about, because I was never sure how compelling a protagonist you can't really understand is.

And yeah, I liked how Jewel came out as a villain. I'm looking forward to him coming back into it a bit more. I mean, not to spoil anything of course.

I really need to actually read Our Eminence. I said I would, but I haven't.

I will now be wondering who Pinkie's third sister is for quite a while. And seriously, it's a good enjoyable and short book.

And can I start up a conversation about violence in FIM?

x3 To me, it works that you can't understand the protagonists, especially at the start where it makes their confusion at their situation all the more palpable.

Yeah, he's certainly got my sympathy. Injuries to that area hurt and ponies are strong (though the latter may be compensated for by the difference between a minotaur and a human).

Well on the bright side, at least he won't have to worry about similar injuries in the future.

@Applelight: I think that that sounds fine to me. Keeps it more in tne with the show, which is good.

@Kegi: He's saying that he thinks he should keep the violence relatively goreless, bloodless, cartoony and non-lethal with most of the weapons being food and cartoon weapons like mallets.

Ah. Well I mean, yeah. That's the show's style, so if you wanna keep with that that's pretty good.

I'd have it a bit more dangerous, but save character deaths to something rare.

Death is the great dilemma for me in this. I don't feel like I can ignore it, yet I honestly don't feel like I could include it without ruining the tone of the whole thing.
