I don't get it.

@Storyyeller: Trust me, Tv Tropes isn't nessecerily always better then that. One time I got questioned by some people on a forum on this site just for using a pony avatar instead of something more "Manly" {I didn't even mention ponies at all: It just happend because of my avatar}, which resulted in a bunch of brony bashing from said questioners.

Well that explains everything, given how this happend on one of the Yack Fest threads.

It really depends what threads you're in. The WA subforum is generally okay, but stuff like the videogame subforums and some of the yackfest threads can be stupid about stuff like that.

And any idiots/assholes who will make a bi deal about that, are a group odds are you wouldn't want to spend time in anyway.

Come to think of it, the name of the thread was "All Straight Male Tropers Report", so I probably should have thought twice instead of stupidly posting there thinking that nothing bad would have happend just from my pony avatar.

I guess a title like that indicates people who are feelign a bit insecure.

What's really funny is that one of the tropers one that thread who questioned me had an avatar of Walter from The Big Lebowski. Wonder how he would feel if he knew that there's a canon ponifcation of Walter and 3 other Big Lebowski charactors.

But enough about that: What's the general view regarding Equestria Girls? I kind of want to check it out, but then I keep hearing things that make me want to stay away from it as far as possible.

I just finished watching it. (And reviewing it as well). My overall reaction is "entertaining and worth watching for the jokes, but lacking the depth of the show."

Flash Sentry has no freaking reason to even be in the movie, and Sunset's character is interesting, but basically gets played as a straight Alpha Bitch for the whole thing and only gets an interesting motivation in the last few minutes. It's a fun watch, but it's very obviously a straight-to-DVD production.

That said, pretty much any joke involving Twilight adjusting to being human is pretty much gold. If the movie was just 90 solid minutes of that, four stars, no questions asked.

Prety much what JT said. It was entertaining, but nothing amazing. You'll laugh your ass off through most of it, and a few good spots outside that, but plenty of flaws as well.

And yes the two biggest and most consistent issues people have is the Flash was utterly useless and could have been removed completely without changing anything, and Sunset wasn't developed at all beyond evil Alpha Bitch.

Here's what I think happend with Flash Sentry: He was something that Hasbro {More specificlly the executives} forced on the crew working on the film. The people who actually made the movie probably know that one of the many reasons for Mlp Fim's success is because it stays away from the pitfalls that plauge girl shows such as romance, and they probably wern't too happy about this themselves, so they did as little as possible with Flash Sentry while still having him in the film.

As for the movie itself, I might watch it, but if I do I'm gonna wait for it to come to Netflix first {Come on, they have the entire Mlp Fim series on there, so I don't see why EQG won't be on there once it comes out on DVD}.

Normally, I'd call that pessimistic, but having seen the movie, that seems to be almost exactly what happened. It literally feels like they included him only to say "look, there's a boy!" That's how inconsequential he is. Like, I don't even hate him, because he doesn't even feel like a character. He's just there. It's almost humorous how irrelevant he is.

But seriously, it's worth watching if only for the gags.

Yeah that was exactly my thoughts the whole time about him.

On two other notes:

1. Sunset Shimmer's transformation pretty much reminded me of Scanty and Kneesocks from Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. It wouldn't surprise me at all if that were an intentional resemblance.

2. The signup for the fic round robin is open.

I think it was about as good as they could have done with the dumb Hasbro mandated elements. It definitely is enjoyable.

Time for me to sleep.

Also, why the hell is "Please note, I am wearing the serious hat." so freaking hilarious?

At any rate, it'it'll be nice hear their voices again and there's bound to be some good memes and music mined from the production if nothing else. I heard there's some good tracks in there.

Good, yes, and they really fit the tone and he feel of the movie. But, way to pop-ish for my tastes.
