Lyra and Octavia both have ships that are almost never set aside in favor of some other pairing. It's sort of rare to see that much consensus on a ship.

I've actually seen a number of fics where Lyra and Octavia are either friends or rivals, or rivals who become friends. Usually as a subplot in a Scratch/Octavia fic.

Regarding Lyra and Octavia, in one of my stories, the backstory is that Lyra and Octavia were college roommates. It won't really influence the story beyond one scene, though.
