So Is Comixology free? I;m considering getting the digital comic for issue 5 thought 8? (I now that the comics themselves are around 4 bucks but is the reader itself free?)

It's free, but the comics aren't of course.

My god...it took a year...more than a year in fact...but I finally have my first story. I really mean it. Here is the synopses:

The story starts with an intro explaining the wealth and prestige of the House Of Fancy, the most well respected of the aristocratic unicorn families of Canterlot. Then it goes on to explain how much of a swell guy Fancy Pants is...then it suddenly swerves to explain that this tale is not about Pants, but is instead about the 'black sheep' of the Fancy family...his obnoxious, boorish frat boy younger brother Fancy Free. Fancy is basically an embarrassment to them, and everyone in high social circles hates him, except for Fancy Pants who still loves and believes in him (his talent is assessing the worth of things after all).

Fancy Pants gives his brother a chance to prove himself...deliver an investment to the Lime Keys (I'm doing it the old fashioned way, where wealth had to be physically transported). He's piloting the airship himself, but it's attacked by pirates. They cause the ship to drop it's fortune over the jungles of the keys and force a crash landing, but not before fancy takes them out too. Fancy is now on hoof, and has to reclaim that treasure before the pirates get it...and on the way he will meet and befriend his future crew. After the show down deep in the jungle, they reclaim the treasure and the pirates are rounded up and sent down. The fancy's reconcile, and Pants agrees to back his brother on voyages (as Free gets bitten by the adventure bug). And as a reward for breaking the pirates hold on the keys, Celestia gives him a Letter Of Marque. The ship is repaired and they set sail on their adventures!

That right there will be the first story. I just have to write it now...might take a few days of course. Any comments?

@Applelight: I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. Execution trumps concept. The story premise is really interesting, but just because you have that hammered out doesn't mean you can phone in the actual writing.

Sounds great, but again what JT said. HOW you tell the story is just as important as what the basic story is.

@ Apple: The synopsis sounds promising. Now go forth and turn it into a good story.

Oh I know...now's the really hard part.

Erm, one other point:

Fancy Free still inadvertently recruits his friends by using the power of friendship (he shows an act of kindness to one, generosity to another etc). He didn't really mean to, and is surprised at these strangers agreeing to help. Sounds sue I know but...remember that until then he's portrayed as an incompetent unlikable jerk.
