Copyright issues with the former aside I don't think Hasbro thinks there is much nostalgia value to be found in MLP.

That would be an odd detail to omit. It seems like something anyone who knows of him would point out (unless that is a plot point, of which we have no reason to think that).

Of course there is nothing to stop them from retconning him as a noble of course.

Hasbro said at the MLP Fair last year that they had something planned for the anniversary... unless its My Little Pony Equestria Girls, which is not what I'd call a Milestone Celebration for a franchise about ponies, it seems like they may not actually have a lot planned or Season 4 will have extra Mythology Gags.

Technically I guess last year was the 30th anniversary (the first toys were released in 1982, the copyright was finalized in 1983 - Hasbro has had trouble with copyrights/trademarks with MLP since the beginning apparently), so its all a moot point.

Well if all ponies can extend their necks to implausible lengths as JT posits, then technically nothing is wrong with their necks. It's still a bit unnerving though.

By the by, can anyone recommend me some fics that are touching without being overly saccharine which also have plausible character interactions? The stories need not focus on the main cast.

What do you think the motion picture industry of Equestria be like? Would it follow a parallel comparable to Hollywood's early studio system? Would writers and directors find a formula of comedy and drama that drew n the crowds or would it follow the much more expressionistic and experimental route that gave us films like Metropolis, Vampyr, or The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari?
