We're almost ready for Winter Wrap Up.
Then we can get Art of the Dress and eventually At the Gala.

I just could never such a large amount of writing in under a month.
At least not quality writing. Last time I checked, this thread was over three million words.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
Well, I could probably read that in 10 hours if that was all I was doing. I'm a very fast reader.
I read Fallout Equestria in 4 days and that was at a comfortable speed.

And you say your practically blind!?
Your an inspiration, man! -sheds a tear of pride-
Insert something witty that makes me better than all of you, here.
Thanks. My fingers do get numb after a while of braille reading though.
Normally I use a screen-reader for browsing, but I use a digital braille screen that transcribes the onscreen text into braille for more serious reading.

Oh right, they have those. Like a touch feedback kinda thing right?
A bit like that. It's as easy as plugging in an Ipod, just sink up the computer with a braile notetaker and it reads whatever your cursor is.

I'm sure they could rig a kind of smart-material braille screen/tablet.
Exactly. Haptic feedback all up ins.
They could, digital braille displays aren't very complicated. But the Iphone already has a voice software that reads commands and icons so it's pretty accessible as it is.
Plus there's the fact that most VI can't afford a braille notetaker, the older models go for around 2500 bucks and the latest model I was lucky enough to get with a discount was originally 6000 dollars.

Yes, very. Most comercial screen-reading software are a thousand bucks not including updates and patches
And rather stupid as most braille equipment has a third the capability. of a regular laptop so it shouldn't cost so much.

Too bad there are no unicorns able to do any of those.
I'm 8ad, and that's good. I will never 8e good, and that's not 8ad. 8ecause there's no one I'd rather 8e... than me.
You could always go with the feeling-the-earth idea from Avatar for Earth Ponies.
I could also see unicorns using their telekenetic auras to feel around and use them like extendable hands. and using a spell to focus light between a telescope of aura to increase visibility for partially sighted. For instance, reading a book with the aura to magnify the letters from their field of vision. That's the idea for my OC, at any rate.
The only thing I could come up for Pegasi is using a presumed sensitivity to air currents and sound location to navigate.
Otherwise, they'd have to learn braille or have access to somepony recording the book. Which I'm sure Twilight would be happy to do in her free time.

@Red: Incorrect; There is at least one documented case of ponies using artificial eyes made of crystals, the G1 Twinkly-eyed Ponies. They were saved from slavery by G1 AJ and used their slavemaster wizard's gemstones to fashion prosthetic eyes.
@Ed: Echo the Wonderbolt uses echolocation.
