@Applelight: This is going to sound really cynical, but one of the most useful things anyone learns from college is how to BS things without making it obvious that you're B Sing. Because there's about a 90% chance that at some point in your life you're going to end up in a position where you have to write/talk about something you couldn't give less of a crap about.

But seriously, even if the content of the essay is pointless, knowing how to organize information like that is really useful. Learning the process is far more important than actually absorbing the information most of the time.

yup, also works for working on nuclear reactors. The "Core values" of the US Navy Nuclear program are supposed to be "Knowledge, Integrity, Excellence." But most realize it's really "Bull-shitting, not getting caught, and Sat. (satisfactory).

3.65 GPA in Power School. (The actual Nuc school, which is one of the hardest academic classes in the country. basically the basics of a four year degree in the operation of a nuclear reactor, crammed into six months.)

Real school, C average. I aced all the test, but never did the other work becuase it was so damn boring and easy.
